Thanks for the links dude. That last car, the '93 LX looks like a possibility for me.

He's about an hour or so away, but that shouldn't be a huge problem.

If I get it, the first thing I am buying for it are some 18x9 Chrome Saleen wheels and some 5 lug conversion spacers.

IDK what the cars are like in your area but $3000 here buys a nice car. There is a 92 GT with 63K on it, brand new built AOD and a 20K Explorer 5.0 ready to be dropped in for $2500. If I didnt just lose my job I would be all over it
There is even a nce dark green 5.0 LX vert with original black/gray interior for $2000 up the road. It needs some trim pieces and a new windshild but is a strong runner otherwise

Just be patient and shop around. You will be suprised at the deals that you see pop up. Alot of the guys on here that have nice Foxes are the ones who waited for a bit and scored something really nice for very little. S&B, DocG, Me, SVT32, Ryan... all scored our cars for far less then they were worth and when you start with a good platform that mabey just needs some TLC you really come out with a great car for alot less money/time/hassel involved

I think this says it all right here. If you're not already handy with a wrench, or you're not willing to learn the hard way through a lot of hours of reading Chilton and Haynes manuals and busting your knuckles, then please don't buy a Fox. Without either prior mechanical experience or at least a serious love for these cars, you'll likely just wind up getting pissed off, giving up on the thing after stuff breaks or turns out to be more work than you're willing to tackle, and then you'll become one of those bitter dudes that goes around saying all Mustangs and Fords are garbage.

Otherwise ... that car's not bad, but as stated, do some comparison shopping and see what else is available. Don't go into it with an idea of "I MUST get this car NOW, or I will NEVER find another deal like this ever again," because you'll be inclined to make silly compromises and wind up with something that won't quite be what you really want.

I like the looks of that one man, its in a crappy area though so be careful. Hillside is the next town over from Newark and Jersey City is no better.

Where is your hometown? I am originally from Sussex County, NJ literally 10 minutes from the border with Orange County, NY. I am about an hour south of there now in Morris County.

I'm going to see that red Mustang LX tomorrow. The guy who owns it now is the second owner and bought it from the original owner less then a year ago.

It was in a small accident back in '97 according to the carfacts. It looks like the car was parked and someone backed into it. According to the police report, it was still functional.

So, I'm looking to buy my first car!
