Roush So who is going to the Saleen show Sept. 18th?

My wife and I are going. We'll be there on Thursday night. I was thinking of doing the SOEC driving event. Only problem is the car is bone stock. I may just go and watch... I'm going to enter the car in the show though. Don't plan on winning anything, but what the heck...

any SCOA shows or anything coming to the southeast sometime soon? i couldn't make it to virignia/maryland in july. i know steeda is doing the steedfest in october, but i can't go to that either. i'd love to drive the car when it's finished on a road trip and take in the sights at a show.

All,

So we have two different clubs meeting in CA on the weekend of the Saleen Show. My wife and I are coming in on Thurdsay the 16th. Who is doing what? SOEC has a driving event on the 17th I was contemplating. My Saleen is stock, so I'm not sure if I am going to thrash it or not. However, I am going to send in the $$ for the show (so I want to hook up for some serious cleaning Friday night). I also noticed that SCOA is doing some schtuff. I am not part of either club yet. Are most people part of both? I would like to hook up with some people from here and have some fun. Is everyone basically locked into one club or the other, or is the plan just to get together wherever/whenever and do parts of each? In other words, are SCOA members going to do the driving event on the 17th with SOEC, and SOEC members going to do dinner w/ SCOA? I have no idea of the history of the clubs, just want to have some fun out in CA and enjoy being with other Saleen enthusiasts. We are staying at the Doubletree in Irvine. Just thought I'd ask...

Sorry you missed out on the SCOA National Show.

I know the Regional Director for the Southeast Region is working on trying to get a couple of events planned before the end of the year. He, along with a few other of the Regional Directors will be in SoCal in less than 2 weeks, and we are meeting to discuss what is scheduled for the remainder of the year & more.

Look for more info as it comes available on the Club website.

Thanks for your interest!

September 18th is the 8th annual Saleen Show which started out as a sidewalk sale to get rid of the parts Saleen wanted to get rid of. Saleen has Frank M. in charge of the show planning, as it has been for the past few years.

There are events planned around this Show by many different groups.

Friday morning is the SOEC Driving Day. You must be a member in the SOEC in order to participate. You can show up and watch without having to pay their $25 membership fee. The SCOA does not have anything planned during this time frame.

Friday night the SCOA has a dinner scheduled, folowed by an "All night car was & social". Details are in the other thread titled: "Saleen Show Weekend Schedule of Events ".

Saturday from about 10am-3pm is the Saleen Car Show with awards until about 4pm. We are encouraging our members to participate in the show. This is the same show that you are reading about others going to, there is no second car show. Following the show we have a dinner planned, and a cruise to/along the PCH. Again, details are in the other thread.

Sunday we are meeting again for a "farwell lunch" at 11am as well as enjoying football on TV. (Info in the thread listed above)

*** You do not have to be a current member of the SCOA to join us for any of the events ***

We do hope that you will come by, learn a little bit about the Club and some of the members, have a good time, and want to join the Club.

To come to the Friday night dinner you must RSVP to [email protected]

Hope that helps, and hope to see you there.

If you have any questions, please ask.

Thanks for your interest,
Mike

any way you could post something up here when you find out anything? i check the forums often... if there is a show to be held at the end of the year i'm so there. with any luck i'll be driving again in a month.

I’ll be in the driving event, which means I have to reenact my SOEC membership. I plan to attend as many of the SCOA events as I can.

I will mark my username "headpaneer" on the Saleen ID card that is placed on the windshield of all the show cars. Also look for the easy-to-remember production number 111 on my 2000 silver coupe.

Sal's purple car should be easy to spot. :D

Hey,

Can we get the latest "to do's" for the event posted by both Mike and Wayne? We are leaving Thursday after I get off work. I was thinking about the driving event, dinner, and clean-up Friday; show, PCH road trip, and dinner Saturday; and lunch on Sunday. Am I missing anything??

For this weekends events in Southern California, you only have to be an SOEC member to join in on the fun of the driving event.

The reason for this is because it costs several thousands of dollars to put this event on. This includes the Insurance that the club must carry, along with the location to have the event and the timing equipment.

With joining the SOEC, you will get 4 issues of our Newsletter, 10% discount on Saleen parts, as well as being directly involved with Saleen Inc at the events directly sponsored by our club.

***We are the ONLY official club backed and promoted by Saleen Inc.***

We will have the Driving Event, Dinner that night along with a car cleaning/pool party depending on how many people have cars to clean. Saturday will be the Show with dinner that night after the show. For both Friday and Saturday night dinners we will plan where we would all like to go those nights. DOn't forget that there is a 1st-3rd place awards for the Driving event given out at the Show on Saturday. Feel free to contact me by email [email protected] anytime.
