It seems that lately, all I've been doing is working day in and day out. I've been averaging 55-60 hours a week for the past few months and it's starting to take it's toll on me, and the family. I seems like I go to work, come home, go to bed, get up out of bed, then go to work again. Then again...maybe I'm just completely out of line so...

How many hours on average do YOU work?

im laid off now. but when i was working good.. as an electrician, we would put back some hours and alot of side jobs... my boss was my buddys uncle, and my buddy worked there too... last year this time.. we worked for about a month straight 630am-500pm on work hours... then we worked 6pm till 1130pm.. everyday for a month... then we cut the side jobs back... so i was rolling it in for a while... then the work hours went up and there were no side jobs... then the x-mas bonus was huge and now there is nothing... work / side jobs... im lazy as a mofo now!

I work 8-6 mon-fri at a garage and on call everyday for the "NUKE" plant so some days I leave the garage around 3 or 4 and work till 10 or so at the plant. My boss at the garage is cool with me leaving on call.....but he cant blame me when they offer doubble time on short notice and the regular time is already 2X the pay I get at the shop

I used to work crazy hours religiously. From 1990-2005, I averaged 55-60 hours per week just to stay ahead of the game. I finally threw in the towel last year when I finally realized that I never got rich doing it, my family life was suffering, and I had no free time to do anything that I wanted to do. I walked out of my job, CONVINCED that there had to be something better.

I now work 40 hours per week and couldn't be happier. I've gained back my life and the free time is a lot more valuable than the money ever was. I don't make as much money but I don't spend as much either. It's a fair tradeoff.

I worked about 60 hour's a week for about a year....never again...your life and having fun is better than the extra money.

36 hours one week, 48 the next....3 days on the short week and 4 on the long week, never work more than 3 days straight, 12 hours a day....it's awesome. Friday comes like 3 times a week for me and i get 2 day weekends every time i get a day off, and every other weekend is a 3 day weekend...it rocks.

Im puttin in 60 hours a week right now, but I clock in and out at the house so that makes it a little easier, worked about 3 years in a row puttin in 60-70 hours a week, that took a toll on me. Best advice is when you feel it taking it's toll on you slack down for a month or until you are comfortable with the hours again.... Family and Friends are more important that killing yourself at work

I managed to break 100 hours in a single week about two summers ago. The company I worked for was moving warehouses so thats why it happened like that. It was the worst week of my life....moving thousands of books for a week straight. A couple shifts were 17 hours long

Back with dads first convience store, he couldn't afford help for 1st shift so he pulled it. He easily average 80 hours a week. When he had to do 6am-11pm it was an easy 90 hours a week. 7 days a week. 1 day off in two years, christmas day. He worked the previous years christmas day. Nearly killed him, he had hardly any energy to keep going, but I respect my dad as one of the hardest workers to ever exist. He switched from being a mechanic to that, after nearly 30 years of it trying to get more time for the family, and it didn't go the way he wanted. Now hes got a store and a shop at another location where I work and it's doing much better. But 80 hours a week sitting behind a counter all day is rough. I hated just being there when I was there. He often times put up stock on his own while in that store. Someone also had to bring him lunch since he couldn't leave, or eat at the store one.

just quit my job to go to college but i worked in a warehouse 6am-6pm monday-saturday thats 72 hours a week, overtime FTW!! i did it for a while and yes life was basically go to work, home and sleep, then wake up again for work.

I worked 3 jobs one summer it was great. Thursdays and fridays i would put up Party tents for 13 an hour 9-330 . Then i would work in the kitchen at a nursing home from 330-730 7 days a week(8.45 per hour) And the rest of the days i would work at a grocery store for 8 an hour. I was doing close to 70 hours a week. I still had time to go out at night too it was great. I never made and spent soo much money in one summer ever again.
