Have to see it in person. Hard to tell from a drawing what the final product will look like; especially the poor quality drawings they sent out. That said, I will be hard pressed to buy one now that there is no longer side exhaust or supercharger on them. Of course, if the '05 handles as poorly as I'm reading it does, Roush will likely be one who can make it respectable in that catagory. I dunno' Stage 2 w/ a blower . But, it better look better than that drawing.

Not sure what posts you are reading saying the 05" doesn't handle? Between this site & Brad's I have read dozens of post saying how much better the car is.

The artwork of those pictures were so horrible it is hard to get a feel for how the 2005 Roush will really look. I am holding off judgement till I see the real thing, though I will say that I am not hopefull for them.

Read some preliminary estimations by Ford that put the skidpad at 0.8x; can't remember exactly. I know it will be an improvement over what we have now stock but we have so far to go... Any updated slalom, skidpad results to the contrary would be much appreciated.

Don't know why they showed a side exhaust on one of the pics. They have been very up front with the Roush owners that they will no longer have side exhaust. Even explained at length why it was no longer possible with the new Mustang.

I hope you aren't hoping the Mustang will keep up with the likes of the Z, S2000, et al., as far as handling is concerned. That simply is not going to happen, purely from a size perspective if nothing else. But, that isn't the point of a Mustang. It is about big V8s, comfortable daily driving with legitimate space for four people and burly, musclecar looks. If you want a road racer, look somewhere else.

That being said, I will be interested to see if the IRS they design (for the Cobra and hopefully other, cheaper SE models) will help with the handling figures.

Now back to the topic at hand...

While the photochops are horrible, hsa anyone heard of what they are going to be doing to the car under the sheet metal? Any power numbers? Any suspension changes (besides springs and shocks)? Is there any news about it besides those horrible pics?

After owning numerous Mustangs in varying levels of trim, I'm well aware of the capabilities and aim of the Mustang. It is nice, however, for those of us who desire a car that's fast and can also corner and brake (yet still want to stay with Ford) to have options available such as Roush and Saleen. We don't much info. yet on the new Roush. Looks like they took the blower away, so the all-around performance thing is gone. Been posted elsewhere, but..

I gotta wonder if that side exhaust will be functional or not. Even Roush gave up on making a side exhaust set up for this Mustang.
