I am 100 percent for a vinyl top on a silver coupe. Any other color... and I think it should be a hardtop.

Many a car has had a vinyl roof either added or removed but it's not as simple as a bolt on application. They are cemented in place and most factory cars that had vinyl were done that way because the roof was less than perfect or the leading was poor. So stripping the top off an exsiting original would require some body work before paint could be applied and adding a top to a finished car just to find out you hate it and want it off is not only a waste of your parts budget but the vinyl itself would be useless now and you would have to repaint the roof.

I will once again suggest you go to the timeline link I gave you before and think long and hard about exactly what you want first unless you have unlimited resources to do as you please.

thanks for the pics guys i like it,

i did go threw the stuff you gave pakrat, but asking questions is the best way to get answers, like now if i had not asked the question i would not have known that cars with a vinyl top had ruff tops under it, thanks for your knowledge guys, i'd like to see a pic of a darker car with with a vinyl top, 67-68 thanks

Oh I agree about questions and always feel free to ask away but with the exception of actual owners posting there rides there are tons of Mustang galleries out there that you can find millions of pics of all by yourself. Google is your friend my friend!:nice:
