We might might have has an odd year. With the new body style and the 4.6 drive train. Let get some 2010 Mustang love started in here. Show those pics of the only year our car was made.

No....historically, it's like the '74 Mustang II, the only Mustang to not have a V8 option, we see how special those are now.... #meanCoyote ;^P

I still like em. Some dog on the 4.6L because it wasn't the coyote.....but nobody hated them while they were in the '05-'09 cars.

I just look at them like an improved version of the last generation. My sister has a beautiful black '10 and I really like it.

For the ones with a hard on for the extra 100hp....hey, the '10's are out of warranty now.....time for that supercharger you've always wanted.

Secret...I always hated the 4.6. Gas sucker, no power. I've had 4 mustangs and was waiting on the to finally ditch the boat anchor. SC a Coyote and it's 600 horse easy, instead of scattering internals all over the road at 450 on an sc 3v.

Gas sucker.....mid/high teens in the city and mid/high-20's on the highway isn't so bad and is pretty much the same mileage the preceding Coyote's are getting?

No Power....315hp? Faster than all prior Mustang GT models before it. Its funny nobody really complained when the high end models like the '03 Mach 1 and '99/'01 Cobra's made the same amount of power, less torque and ran slower times....yet give the next generation, lower end GT, the last generations high end power levels and it was unacceptable? Let's be honest....people will always want more power from the GT model, but nobody really griped about it until news of the Coyote was on the horizon.

I'm not gonna try to debate that a mod for mod, a 3V would stand a snowballs chance against a Coyote, because we all know that isn't true.....simply that when you add up the dollars and sense, they can be made pretty comparable.

Yes, supercharge the Coyote and it'll reward you with higher power levels and will handle more of it to boot....but this wasn't a mod for mod comparison. Simply stating that Coyote power levels could easily be duplicated (or exceeded) quite easily and reliably on the earlier modular. A blown 4.6L 3V will hurt a stock Coyote's feeling all day long and when you consider the nose dive in value that the '10's took in the used car market when the Coyote cars hit the streets. You can just about buy a 2010 and blow it, for the same price as you can pick yourself up a stock '11-up for?

Remember....these are essentially the exact same cars, save for the power plant and manual transmission. Quite frankly, I'd prefer the tried and true TR3650 5-speed to the known problematic Chinese made MT-82 6-speed the '11-up cars are saddles with.

Add 100 horse to your 4.6 to bring it Coyote levels and we'll see how tried and true the 3650 is at that point....

So, let me get this straight: roughly same mileage as a Coyote, making 100 less hp. Hmmmm....power cost money in fuel usually but, apparently not here.

...and you think it's fair to say it isn't a mod for mod comparison when you're advocating adding a blower to the 4.6 just to get to stock Coyote levels? Getting a blower + 4.6 to hit numbers a Coyote with a good tune and a little exhaust work will do makes for an improvised explosive device.

The 4.6 is an ancient architecture, good for the era it came from but, the end of the line had been reached long ago. The engine was no longer able to be refined any further, so Ford finally went all in and redesigned everything. That was long overdue.

Considering the massive improvement underhood and the relatively low price increment to get newer technology with more potential, the purchase decision is obvious, at least to me.

Frankly, I can't imagine how pissed owners of new '10s must have been, (if they weren't paying attention to the worst kept secret in the automobile world) when they found out the new Mustang in '11 would be 100 horses stronger in one year.

My Coyote, one of the weak 412 horse versions to start with, runs an 11 sec 1/4 on a mild tune and a sticky tire, full load car. That's alright by me...until I strap a TVS on it and...I fear that decision is coming soon

My 4.6 vert is a cruiser and it does it quite nicely. Top down and good sound.

Lest not forget that the Project Grabber Boost fared pretty well (won) against Project Coyote during AM's build off. In all fairness due to a technicality, but GB hit 11:9... not to shabby for ancient architecture.

Here's my baby. I picked it up in January. It is a 2010 GT Premium coupe with Premier Trim and manual tranny. I love this 3v.
