I have my engine pulled out at the moment. I'm doing a retro fit HID install,and would it be ok to hook the battery up and turn the light's on so I can align them? peace

I don't see why not, just disconnect the battery again when you are done so you don't have a bunch of codes stored

It won't...but if you are worried, just unplug it.

If you want tp be safe, use a fuse on the power wire
