Hello everyone, I just joined up here and i am probably going to be gettin a 87-93 mustang pretty soon. Now im a noob to mustangs not to cars. Just want to clear that up. Im comming from the other side. I have had 2 camaros and just recently sold my 95 z28. It had all the bolt ons and some juice But i am now finding an interest in to foxbody mustangs. What is the stock hp rating of a 302? Also with a 5spd what should it run in the 1/4? And with just basic boltons like longtubes, intake, slicks and a few other things here and there what kind of times would it run? Sorry for the questions, i just want to know a little more about these cars.

87-93 5.0L ='s 225hp at the engine (about 180-185rwhp).

With bolt-ons/gears/tires you can hit low-mid 13's with a good driver if you have one of the lighter equipped foxes.

Foxes usually range in the area of low 14's to low 15's depending on trim (vert or coupe, 5spd or aod). They trap around 93-97mph.

Yeah anytime

On average about 40-50 lbs between a notch (lighter) and a hatchback (heavier).

A gt weighs about 70lbs more on average over a hatchback just because of the foglight assembly and elongated bumpers (minimal weight) and chance of it being loaded.

But my lx hatch weighed 3180 (before al. heads) without me in it. My cousin's 90 gt weighed 30lbs less than my car. Just a FYI.

Weight difference is fairly minimal between them all in my opinion.

Notch is lighter than all else. Cant tell ya more than that.

If you desire instant answers, the search feature works pretty decent in here, and the Mustang registry has some elementary info which might be useful.

I will add that since you are a 4th gen guy, I have yet to find all-encompassing mustang info and how-to sites like Brent and others have.

Good luck.
