does the blue handle feel really short. I want to put this dam thing in so bad but I need to find time so I can change the fluid while I do this.

I've only ever tried the blue handle and it feels fine. Well within arm distance, don't have the lean forward for 5th. It is very short but I think that has more to do with the shifter itself and not the handle.

I think the decision really comes down to seating position. I have the seat back a good ways, but the back relatively vertical.

As for the shifter I've never come across one that feels as solid. It was a little notchy for my tastes at first, but within 200 miles it wore in a bit and feels perfect.

Yep... you hit nail on the head. :nice: The length of the handle has absolutely NOTHING to do with the throw of the shifter. If the shift know moves 1.5 inches towards the rear of the car with the blue handle then it moves 1.5 to the rear with the orange handle. The throw length of the shifter is controlled by the length of the fulcrum at the shifter's pivot point, not by the length of the handle or how far it comes out horizontally.

It's a comfort and convienince thing for seating position.

Changing the length of the shifter vertically will change the throw some but not near as much as changing the length between the fulcrum point and bottom of the shifter where it enters the tranny.
