The garden of Eden was in Iraq.

2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization . I think North Carolina is the cradle myself..

3. Noah built the ark in Iraq.

4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq.

5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq. If ya gotta be an Iraqi, at least be a southerner... hahah

6. Isaac's wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq.

7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq.

8. Jonah preached in Nineveh - which is in Iraq.

9. Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel.

10. Amos cried out in Iraq

11. Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem.

12. Daniel was in the lion's den in Iraq

13. The three Hebrew children were in the fire in Iraq (Jesus had been in
Iraq also as the fourth person in the fiery furnace!)

14. Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the "writing on the wall" in
Iraq.

15. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into Iraq.

16. Ezekiel preached in Iraq.

17. The wise men were from Iraq.

18. Peter preached in Iraq.

19. The "Empire of Man" described in Revelation is called Babylon, which
was a city in Iraq. If it were the "Empire of Real Men ". It woulda been Rockingham, where the North Carolina Speedway is..

And also... This is something to think about. Mustangs were made in Iraq. Ok thats a lie praise God.
Since America is typically represented
by an eagle,Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages... The
following verse is from the Quran, (the Islamic Bible)

Quran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a
fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of
Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more
rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there
was peace.
(Note the verse number!) How cool is that !
Now lets nuke them into a big sheet of glass and get our boys out.

ok so how did you make out all this? I understand that that the bible takes place in the middle east. The garden of Eden though should be protected by an angel though right?

The bible is a book of philosophy. Most of it is not to be taken literally. However, IMO it is a very valuable source of inspiration and advice.

I don't believe there is a physical "garden of eden". The story is meant to teach a lesson / lessons.

I'm interested in the real translation of verse 9:11. I guess I should double check myself. That is too much of a coincidence to believe, almost.

But then I'm pretty gullible. :D

fun thread, thanks!

edit: thanks for the link, Banditlead.

I dont know for sure kids, reference that translation. That little diddy was supposed to be so, but it sounds more urban legend to me. Im a nuclear scientist, not a Historian Jim !!!!

I think it should read,,

And lo, the great Eagle took a big dump upon Iraq, and pumped all its oil out, so that the Eagles children could drive for 12 cents a gallon.

Now THATS a happy ending !!! :flag:

The thing that bothers me is that there's just a few bad apples really messing it up for the Iraqis. There are a whole lot of grateful people over there who would like nothing better than to have a little freedom, peace and quiet..

Hmmm first politics now religion....Geez never a dull moment on stangnet!

P.S A big thumbs up for bringing our troops home. Theyve been fighting in the middleast for oh who thousand years? Like were gonna change anything?

That's part of what keeps me coming back.

As far as Iraq goes, as much as I would like to see our troops come home tomorrow, I don't think that is the right thing to do. Not after we overthrew the government there claiming to have rescued the people of Iraq. I think we now have a responsibility to do at least what we said we would do, and give Iraq a start at a democracy. Of course if we can mend the fence with the U.N. and talk them into sending a peace keeping force to Iraq then our troops should be brought home ASAP.

The Bible is not specific on this, but I think it is plausible: The flood destroyed Eden - no more need to protect it by an angel. The rich abundant lush vegetation and all that was in it, after being buried and compressed, turned into oil for the enemies of God's people to use as leverage in today's economy....
