Is it bad to have a small spacer in-between the hub and the rear wheels in order for the wheels to clear the brakes? I think I have 2 or 3 mm spacers.

they won't hurt on the street, however I would NOT RECOMEND using a set of SLICKS, or any type of STICKY tires. Rest assure you will snap studs.

What kind of wheels are you trying to clear?

I run spacers but on the fronts to clear Weld Drag Lites. My car is my daily driver and I will say I have to take it easy around the pot holes here in So Cal but as far as cornering goes I have no worries.

Maximum Motorsports told me that any spacer bigger than 1/8 inch requires longer studs. I tend to think that they know what they're talking about. Those wheel studs are under a scary amount of stress. I remember when the '84 Corvette was undergoing testing they kept hearing loud popping sounds under hard cornering. It was the wheel studs failing under the stress. Think of it this way, do you really want to chance losing a wheel on the track?

''Wheel to hub'' is the best way to go.
