I was wondering about gap size do i set my plugs at for my 92 mustang 5.0 liter. I will be doing it myself for the first time pretty soon, also i heard there are diferrent tools to do it with and which ones better?

I have alwasy just used the stock .054 as the gap. As far as special tools just a regular gap gauge and a basic socket set will do it. Only plug hard to get to is the number 4 wich is the very back on the passenger side if you still have your smog system in place. And even then it isn't that bad. Oh and no need to waste money on expensive plugs plain old Autolite 25's work great.

spark plug gap I set according to how its ran. IF NA you can run a stock gap but if you use a hotter ignition, run it a little hotter plug with a little wider gap, for better power.

if running nitrous u need a colder range plug, and closer gap, the nitrous will "put out" the fire if the gap is too wide.

I do like some of these guys and run a slightly tighter than stock gap (around .045-048) to allow for an old ignition and gap erosion over time.

25's are my choice as well.

If you have a quality ratchet (which requires little movement before it clicks - good for tight spaces), a short and long wobble extension, an air tool (ball in socket) universal swivel joint, and perhaps some spare fuel line, you should be all set.

I like to neverseize the threads. Copper neverseize conducts a little better than alum, but alum is common and works fine.

Good luck.
