Hey Everyone,

I know...dumb questions. But anyway, I want to change my plugs in my 02 GT(she's got 20K on the speedo so its time), I have the tools, spark plug socket, gap gauge etc. Anyway, I notice I will need to remove my fuel rails(what do I need to know if this is tricky) and with the COP ignition, how and how much force do I use to get the COP off the plugs?

recap:
1. How do I get the fuel rails off.(will I need to unhook the fuel pump and bleed the system??)
2. How hard to get the COP off the plugs.(how hard to pull on them)
3. Recommedations on type of plugs and gap.

Thanks :)

you do not have to remove the fuel rails. looks like you do but you dont. Take the screw that holds the coil down off and you will see that they are very flexible. I like the NGK iridium plugs myself, but OMV

If for some reason you do have to remove your rail, just do the following:

1. unscrew schrader valve cap, and push the pin to release the pressure. (have towels handy)
2. detatch the fuel line with a fuel line disconnect tool.
3. then unbolt the rail

you may also be able to hit the fuel cut-off switch and then run the engine until the fuel is used up. That way you wouldn't have any fuel to clean up.

The COP will just pull out easily once you unscrew it. When you install new plugs, put dielectric grease on the ends before you reinstall the COP.
