You do not "need" them, but a step or two colder wouldn't hurt anything either. I'm running a two step colder copper plug in my car now with no problems. I guess the decision is going to be yours. The advantage to a colder plug is less resistance to electrical charge, however, its not a "must have" for a n/a vehicle without high compression like the modular 4.6ltrs.blue46gt said:This is probably a dumb question but a guy I know was telling me that I need to run a cooler set of spark plugs in my car with the mods I have. Is this true?![]()

He must have one of those 4.6L diesel engines...!!!40th GT said:You're kidding right? If a 4-stroke gasoline engine doesn't have spark plugs, how is it going to complete the power stroke??

I believe the kind I have are Motorcraft copper awf-sc12's. I could have a letter in there wrong, it's been a while. I know its two steps colder than stock though.blue46gt said:Thanks for the response! What plugs would you suggest I use? Probably need to change them anyway.
