I was given the horn parts for a grant steering wheel in a bag when I got my car. There are no instructions included so I tried to figure it out on my own. Well I have it installed but when I push the horn button it is the 4th of July with the sparks flying. Anyone have their instructions for this kit? Is this normal? It looks like just simple contacts.

I will try the grease and let you know. I guess I could just hook up a relay and that will be a permanent fix and it is very close to the battery so it wouldn’t be that hard. Thanks blkfrd

Although the turn signal switch is a potential problem, most grants are set-up for the chevy set-up with a positive and neg on the horn button. One side is suppose to be the pos, the other is neg. Fords just run a single pos wire that runs through the horn button and opens and closes the circuit. The ground is handled elsewhere. The horn button will have a little ground ring that touches the rim of the steering wheel when it's put on. This creates a ground in the positive circuit on a ford. If you eliminate the ground ring on the horn button, you should be done.
