I don't want to tear my door panel off twice just to find the size, but what is the size of the speakers inside the doors? one of mine went out so I figured it's perfect to add to the xmas list.

I believe it's a 6X9. Maybe a 6X8 though

Crutchfield.com works wonders though...

I'm pretty sure they are 6x8's. Crutchfield back when I was working on mine had 6x8's listed as stock and 5x7's will work in the holes as well.

The stock door speakers are 6x8 component speakers. You can also install 6.5" with a small adapter plate. 6.5" speakers are easier and cheaper to come by and have about the same sound output at 6x8's. My girlfriend just got me a set of 6.5" Infinity Reference component speakers for Christmas, and she found them brand new on ebay for like $100. My uncle has these speakers in his Smart car and they sound really nice; large improvement over stock. They are a very crisp speaker.

I bought from Crutchfield twice last year, and they were dirt cheap.

i think theyre very over priced, especially on JL Audio. U can get the same JL Audio for anywhere from 30-50% off Crutchfields price

They cost more @Crutchfield because they are an authorized vendor. All other are not which means no manufacturer warranty.

Bought what exactly?

I'd have to agree that crutchfield usually is not the best price.

I got 4 Kenwood speakers for the Mirage last winter for $100. Then picked up a really nifty Clarion head unit with the USB jack and all that for $150. I remember it was double that price at Best Buy for similiar products. Obviously not the best prices either, but double?

Not bad. Although bestbuy is not the best thing to compare it to Keep it internet based....i'd hope an internet company can beat best buy. I like onlinecarstereo for deals. Thats where i got an amp and amp kit from. Ebay has deals, although i have yet to buy car audio off ebay.

***Best buy is awesome if u know an employee. The car audio discount is right around 50% off, if not more. So they are right on par, if not a smidget less than ebay prices.

My guy at best buy got me my pioneer deh-mp4800p or whatever the model is for right around $80 3-4 years ago, it was shelf price of about $180-200, somewhere around there, so hook ups at best buy work out great. Now I did get my two kenwood subs and amp from a 'retail' ebay store for $125 flat and they sold like on crutchfield for around $200. Just my 2 cents on cost-wise.

Anything "M" Class..

The 8" "M" Class Components are ****ing incredible..

THE M Class coaxials sound amazing off deck power.. You would never believe that they aren't amped.. Had them in my explorer, a friends f-150, another friends Silverado, and also in my Sebring..

Best place to buy is just wherever online.. Cost on 6.5" coaxials is $62, so however close you can get to that
