speed density/mass air/speedo

i am all set up for my 4banger to 5.0 conversion with all the parts i need. only thing is that the wiring harness i have is from an 87 which is set up for speed density. i need to know which i better to go with speed density or mass air? also the 87 donor car i bought came with the speed cluster that only goes up to 85mph and the engine i have came out of a 92. do i need to find a 140 one or can i keep the 85mph?

mass air is better if ur going to raise the hp with mods and do what we fox heads love to do. not sure about the speedometer thing. im pretty sure it doesn't matter. may need to change ur speedo gear though. i think the 4clyns had different rear gears then a 5.0 . not sure what u did or didn't do with that so i can't say.

Use the harness you have. Get the car up and running first. You can use the speedo as well.

Later pm you can comvert to mass air using an aftermarket harness that's very easy (google ist mass air)

thanks for the help. im getting a mass air harness tomorrow and a a9p computer and the ist site will b helpful in the future thanks
