I never liked speed racer in my youth, maybe I was already too old for it. I have a six year old son now, so I bought it for him. I thought that a movie with "racer" in the title would have be a lot more about racing....now way. I also thought a movie with a young brother with a pet monkey would be more for kids. No way. The language and violence is all through the movie. I can't let my kids see this alone. It is such an awful, poorly done movie, painful to watch in parts. I don't know how this movie didn't go straight to video, or the bargain bin at wal-mart. Wow, what a flippin stinker. I even knew it was going to be bad, was ready for it to be bad, ready for it to be awful...and it still let me down.
If you have young kids, don't bother, if you want to re-live your youth, pig out on junk food. The sugar headache won't last as long as the nausea from watching the movie.

I got a free Mach 5 car in my cereal box. It's the one that you push back to "wind it up" and it has "turbo" action. If you spray some water on the table, you can get it to lose traction. I've been unable to make it leave 2 black marks on my table though.

I bought one of those $12 small scale Nikko RC cars from Radioshack a while back... a Ferrari Enzo I think... and it had enough power to do donuts on my desk (slick surface), but gradually the motor lost power and it couldn't do it anymore.
