I have a 1990 gt with manual 5 speed tranny without cruise control. My speedometer cable is no good and I need to know How many teeth my speedometer GEAR has and if its left or right hand driven. I threw out the old cable with the gear thinking autozone would have the complete speedo with gear. The old gear was white and my rear gear ratio is 3:73. Im driving around without knowing how fast im going so i need your input please

Did you throw the vehicle speed sensor away too? I am pretty sure the cable will not come with a new one..

i think that the white gear is a right hand drive and it has 21 teeth which is for a 3.73 rear end

If the sensor is still there, then the speedo gear is still there top. The speedo gear attaches to the end of the speed sensor which is inserted into the transmission.

The speedo cable slips into the end of the speed sensor and has a square cable inside. If your vss is still there, all you need is a speedo cable for a car with speed sensor and just slip it in.

But to answer your question...it's a white 23-tooth driven gear, 8-tooth drive gear inside
