I decided on a spoiler and am going to pick it up friday.

How exactly are spoilers mounted, just the 4 bolts, or is there an adhesive that is also used?

who took a leak in your corn flakes?

What wing/spoiler did you purchase? Most are just simple swaps (4 bolts) but if its a saleen s281 you have a little work ahead of you.

Is this going on your 66? I don't know anything about them... We moved my spoiler back a couple inches and it is just 4 holes.

the steeda spoiler is a simple one bolt on and go.
also there is some adhesive thats needed to prevent water from seeping through to the bolts. i neglected to search for the adhesive and now i really need put it on.

try some clear silicone, that should seal it up nicely.

they are different for our cars, but i'm sure the one for your car is just as much of a pain in the ass! BUT nothing looks better IMO.

ah yea true...didn't think of that.
and the thread starter's name is '66 so i just wasn't thinking about different years either. i will eventually get a smoother looking spoiler more flush to the body.

I got an s281 for christmas... had it painted in the beginning of January, went to remove the Cobra wing I have on the car and noticed that 2 of the four holes had to be patched and now the deck lid has to be repainted. Also, the wing has to be reformed to fit the deck lid, or the ends of the wing won't fit correctly. It is now a month later and I still don't have the wing on yet. Big PIA!!

The cars a 97 gt (I have 2 stangs, hence my forum name)... and it is the s281 style, but not an official saleen one...looks damn good to, I put it on my trunk lid to see how it'll look already.

I'll post pics when I have it up, and if anyones interested the guy I know sells them for 150, they're black and may fit better than the official saleen ones, I'll find out soon.

I just installed it, see my post in the 4.6 Talk section, pics included... I'm not sure if he has any for 2000 models, but I'll ask...the spoiler would be different for the 99+ models.
