Had a taste of spring this week, picked a good week to be off,but along with the weather out come the a@$holes.Not sure which are worse, yuppie bikers or ricers.Fri night saw quite a few of both.First while filling up a group of bikes pull up at the pump next to me revving the engines like I'm supposed to be impressed, lol, swear to God all of them where dressed in H-D stuff from head to toe, even their women.Have considered buying a bike, but I'll be damned if I buy a H-D wardrobe.Have met a few REAL bikers over the years, but they rode very basic bikes, the 1% sticker on their tank and patch on their vest impressed me.I love Mustangs but every T-shirt I own doesn't have ford on it.Not to mention jeans, boots,do rags,jacks.......
Then comes the ricers, why do they insist on trying to race on the street, especially when there's are car 50ft in front of you.Had a EVO and WRX try this.I don't know about you guys but I need my license.
I have always found beauty in all thing mechanical bikes, cars and boats,if done tastefully.I guess I'm getting old, just like to b#@ch.

Agreed 100%

Well put, you should write a column for a a mag!

The ricer part with a car in front 50' away cracked me up. I have never got that at all along with everything else you said.

A few weeks ago some D-BAG in is a early civic hatch dirty as a mother had the word B18 on his back glass. This little D-BAG pulls up next to revving his motor like were now supposed to race. For starters I'm not going to race someone thats only packing 170hp and secondly there was just no room to race plus the middle of the day. What gets me most is if your going to be stupid, leave the innocent girl passenger out of the car. Some people just amaze me.

+100% There are tons of stupid people out there, and they are screwing each other and making more. I agree with the licence thing too. Not only do I need my licence, I need my insurance not to cost more than my mortgage. I would rather put the cash into Summits bank account instead of the insurance companies

Good rant, I guess I am getting old too!

I used to own a Suzuki GSX-R 1000, and you wouldnt believe how many guys with those same bikes would come up and make fun of mine cause it was only a 2001. Now that Im on a 1200 HD Sportster, all the HD guys just wave as they go by, or tell me they like the sound of my pipes. I agree that you dont need all the HD clothing to ride your bike though, but I like the cruiser guys way more than sportbike guys. As for cars, I had a guy on thursday in a Lexus pull up next to me while rolling down a 4 lane street, and then he took off and I heard his turbo spooling. Glad I was mature enough not to race him, cause I would have got my ass handed to me anyway!

Have to admit the EVO would've probably cleaned my clock, that thing was quick! But there's a time n place for that, not on a four lane with traffic.

Where I'm from, everybody has some form of rice. I'm not talking respectable Hondas, STI's, Evo's, or that. Pure RICE. Stickers add horsepower, catch my drift? It's gone from funny to annoying. They always buzz by me. Always flash their brights. Everybody wants a piece. I had a guy in a Saturn twin cam try to get me to race. Seriously?

My fox isn't even that fast!

I feel somewhat embarrassed for the HD riders all decked out, I cant even get a grasp on the idea of dressing in head to toe in HD clothing just because a person is riding a HD cycle. Some would call it pride, but I call it OVERBOARD!! Have you ever been in a store and saw some of the prices on the clothing, it's insane!!!!

I guess some HD riders have more money than sense

As i was finishing up my car all these Hondas and ricers kept driving by and revving their engines at me as i was working on my car. Really now?
OMG and revv offs. What is that all about? Just a bunch of retards revving their engines at eachother to determine who's 'ride' is 'cooler'

surprisingly i have had my car out for a week and not one single ricer has tried to race. this is my first mustang, actually its my first car in 5 or 6 years and i have been expecting tons of fly by's and ricer shenanigans. maybe the 275's on the back of a coupe scare them? i did have a GTO throttle it as he stared at me going the opposite direction off a stop light. like I'm going to chase down a 400+ hp car with my stock 86 with an AOD.

I'm just now getting my notch on the road an enjoying a little... don't have insurance on her yet so I keep it close to home. Jumped out onto the highway Friday just as a BMW M ragtop was jumping on from the other direction... don't know how hard he was pushing it, but I smoked him pretty bad. I thought those things were quick

Steve...please dont race your car, especially if you are uninsured. Reasonably sure you shouldnt even be driving it that way. Ok off my soapbox.

A friend of mine who runs a s10 with a 383, a turbo Maxima and a g35 told it to me this way. People want to race mustangs because they are the benchmark car. People dont say, "I beat a civic." They say, "I beat a mustang."
Yes, Spring brings out the dopes. Dozens of accident around here this weekend.

I hear ya, need to get it on the policy. I've got 4 others on there and it's killing me, that's why it's not on there yet but will be.

I live in the rich pat of Indy (but don't mistake me for rich, haha), and there is nothing but a bunch of Porsches, Sl series Mercedes, and high-end Corvettes with the occasional Viper or Ferrari. Except for the exhaust noise, I usually get ignored when I drive my Mustang. And I mean nose-high-in-the-air-with-head-turned-the-other-way ignored.

The Harley goons crack me up. They think they can buy a new HD wardrobe and throw it on and TADA they're straight out of Easy Rider. Did anyone in that movie wear brand spankin new leather chaps? They're not fooling anyone....much less the real bikers out there. You can't fire up the credit card and swap your dress shirt and slacks for leathers and be part of a subculture. That makes you a poser.

The ricers...i'm bored with them. They're always around, no matter what the season is. The best is in the winter when you see their busted up fiberglass bumpers dragging in the snow.
