Spring Isolater Question

Hey, tomorrow I'll be installing my new springs on my car, and I want to leave out the oem spring isolaters to get the maximum amount of drop out of the suspension. Well, heres my question, what do the oem spring isolators look like and how much extra drop will they give me? This may be a dumb question and/or has been covered already. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks. :SNSign:

i dont have an answer but i have a question to add to that, with the isolators removed is that ride rougher or louder like any squeeks or extra clunking?

the isolators are the rubber boots that the springs sit on. your ride will be very squeeky and sound like seals humping from time to time when u turn. most spring installs will tell u to remove it. me personally, i would get some black hose and install it on the spring itself up to a couple inches on the tops of the springs.

With them removed it can be louder, although some have reported no additional noise. You can compromise and remove just the bottom.
In the front, the bottom iso is a snake of sorts...a perforated tube that is slid onto the bottom coil. On top, it's a donut sort of thing with a groove that the sping fits into.
Here is an example of front spring isolators:

In the back, the top is the same as the front, a donut. The bottom is a small hat that fits on the spring perch, then the spring sits on the hat.
Here's an example of rear spring isolators:

between 1/4 and 1/2 inch drop with both top and bottom out in front. i noticed absolutely no change in ride quality after removing them. what springs you going with? Heres a pic...

I have the Ford Racing C-Springs, (all I could afford at the time...lol). I didn't really want a huge drop anyway, but I figure a little more drop would be nice with the price I paid. Anyone have any pics or info about how much of a drop I will get with c-springs+no isolators? Thanks.

My car doesn't hae isolators... it makes the car look low without being slammed.

02g-machine im going with the c-springs aswell im gonna use mach 1 shocks and struts, i think it was PUGHMAN that posted a pic of his car c springs no isolators, here it is found it

with the c-springs, will removing the isolators effect the need for C&C plates? Since the c-springs don't require them normally..

I have the C springs in my car, and I left the upper rear isolators out, and reused the factory ones in the front. There is no additional noise coming from the back at all. I have had these on my car since October and have had no issues that would required the use of C/C plates. I was really surprised how much of a drop I got out of them, it is definitely more than an inch.
