spring plate help

hey im looking for a new drivers side spring plate because my drivers side plate has a nice sized crack going through it. i found some but they say they are for 65-66 modle stangs. would that be the same as the ones found on a 71 modle stang? Thanks

65-66 rears had a reduced diameter axle tube where the springs attached (2.5" diameter). I think that the later ones were 3" all the way. If you got got the 65-66 ones cheap, you could slot the holes and use them. If your car has staggared shocks (not sure if any 71's had that), they definately won't work. I'd say try to get the correct ones for your car.
