Im getting the bullit suspension kit for my 04 GT. I was just wondering everyones opinion on the best way to remove and install the new front springs. This job is going to be fairly shadetree. More than likely jack and 2x4 style. I have very limited access to a lift, very limited. Whats the best way for a do it yourselfer. Also any good advice on cc plate installs would be appreciated.

The rear springs are easy.

The fronts are too if you have a jack that can raise the front end high enough to allow the A-arms to fall as much as possible. You can always get a spring compressor tool to help you out if needed.

...I can take it. I think.

Make sure you have something to tie the springs with until all of the tension is out. Don't want them flying out at you.

Just raise the car as much as possible to allow for clearance of the springs. Also I'd suggest shocks and struts while you are doing the springs.

When i did my first set of springs all i did on the front was put a motorcycle tiedown around the spring and around the k member to hold it in there, then i heated up the spring till it drooped down enough for the load to be off of it, then pulled it out... i had a set of spring compressors already so i just put em on the new spring, popped it in there and unbolted the spring compressors, didnt have to take off one bolt after the wheel was off... i got most my tools stolen if your wondering why i did it like that..

It's fairly easy..deffinetly something that can be done in the driveway!! You just need most basic tools for the spring swap. I didn't "tie" my springs down with anything...just lowered the jack VERY slowly after everything was disconnected. Then, I proceeded to jack the car up as high as SAFELY possible & you basically have to push down on the A-arm to slide the old spring out & to slide the new sping in (it helps to get some assistance with this). Once the new spring is CORRECTLY sitting in the A-arm, just jack it back up & re-attach everything. I also suggest new shocks while you have everything appart...it will help you in the long run!

Appreciate the info everyone. And I am changing the shocks and struts as well. I ordered the whole bullit kit as well as a strut tower brace and c/c plates. Should make the car pretty sweet. Thank again.
