I just bought a set fo H&R Supersports and am wondering if i am deffinatly goin to need CC Plates, if so why are they so expensive, i think the supersports are said to drop it 1.7 and 1.5, thanks for any help i get..
They are always good to get, but if you could get a good alignment without them, do it. I suggest if you are going to get rims and expensive tires, you should get cc plates. I know people who have stock rims get good alignments without cc plates. Good luck.
Get 'em!! Ive heard of people with stock set ups unable to get one side aligned properlly with stock suspensions. Also you can then adjust camber AND caster. Stock theres no adjustment for caster. And if you want optimal handling you can adjust camber for better straight line or better turning. When I put on my Sportlines (1.8") I was at 2.4 degrees negative camber and couldnt get back into specs without the plates..
Instalation isnt all that hard. And it wont take long if you have everything already apart doing. The installation instructions shows how to adjust 'em incase the alignment shop cant figure 'em out.
Unless you plan to upgrade your rubber (spring) isolators to urethane, expect about a near 2" drop in the front (1-3/4" rear rake). In order to get your alignment back to normal you'll need some caster/camber plates. I have MM C/C and they are very good to get that alignment back (reduce that negative camber back to reasonable) and they don't get noisy over time (as you can search on). I don't really think you need anything else unless you plan on road racing with curves.
If you are going to run your stock struts and shocks, expect to replace them soon after.
