sputtering under power

I need some help!!!! Driving my car which is a '66 stangand it is missing pretty bad but only while driving. It idles fine. I just changed the spark plugs and wires but to no avail. I dont think its the filter since it idles fine. Any Idea anyone?

change the fuel filter...

what happens is there isnt much pressure on it while at idle, so the sediment falls to the bottom. As soon as there is a bunch of suction, its sucks all the junk into the element. 90% of the time its just a dirty filter. 40 year old fuel lines and tank get dirty quick.

also check your timing. you might have pumped your distributor off a tiny bit, which, in small amounts, would effect once you pushed the gas and not at idle

vacume leak gets my vote.

Get some starter fluid and spray around your carb, and the vacuume lines.

btw, I do not know how to spell vacuume, and I dont think I care all that much.
