maybe, switch the belt (or spray it with belt dressing)... if it still squeals, then start looking at the alternator and water pump.

Could be the belt tensioner arm itself. They're aluminum and over time fatigue and bend causing the belt to sit unevenly on the tensioned pulley and it will squeak.

There is a steel replacement that would work well.

I'd switch out the belt first and see if it is still there. If so, then buy a new tensioner arm.

Had that squeak too...the first time it happened (around 40K) I swapped the belt, and the squeak stopped. Then about 30K later, the squeak came back...got another, better belt...and it stopped it again for a while. But not too long after that it came back. There was no way it could be the belt as I had just replaced it so I bought the whole tensioner pulley and arm assembly from Ford; ran something like $50...and that took care of it.

So a tensioner bracket, can cause it to squeal?
