Sorry to start the "hood paint backlash".

He's going for the Mustang GT-R look, which has an all black hood.

sorry guys, not tryin to feed ur fire, lol but i hate with a passion the steeda paint scheme on the hood. When the hoodp ins are placed where they are SUpose to be it looksl ike pins r in the "fenders" and idont like how it simulates the tops of the fenders, like the older mustangs had. ( narrow hood, wide fenders) I just cant stand tht. I have a 70, and love it, but hood stays one color, not 2 or 3 or 5, lol

When the GT-R came out, I thought it looked like rice. Then I remembered that old yellow Boss 302 (?) with the same paint scheme. My thoughts now are that they should have painted both hoods.

I just don't get the black hood thing, but I sure see an awful lot of imports done that way.

Ricers want to make sure you know it's carbon fiber.

The black hood was a common feature of the cars built for racing in the various circuits, which often had a requirement of a certain number of vehicles being manufactured for public sale as well. This was how we ended up with the Boss 302 and 429, the Camaro Z28, Trans Am, AAR cuda's, Daytonas, Superbirds, etc. The hoods were often painted flat black to prevent glare. Why they didn't do this with all the race cars back then, and why they don't don't do it today is most likely because it made little difference, there would be enough glare coming up off the pavement that the black hood wouldn't help. I think it's a cool look and harkens back to the days of true muscle car styling. Ricers often have carbon fiber or unpainted hoods, which is different, and I agree any unpainted piece of body kit you just slap on your car looks pretty stupid. If you can't afford to paint something that is purely for appearance sake, then don't bother buying it and putting on your car.

All my stuff is painted. The pic in my avatar i took when i was fititng the bumper ( for personal records of progress) and ithaught it looked ool, so i made it my avatar. - Roger

Plus not to mention i work full time restoring corvettes, and i didnt have a bunch of time to get the body kit prepped and painted in one day. it takes a long time to get those things lookin good. And i modded my fedners before i did anything to the body kit.

I frankly didn't notice your bumper at all before I made that comment, hope you weren't offended. But I'm sure you agree, a honda with body kit pieces in four colors of primer looks pretty silly.
