I want to go a little wider than 255's, so i'm pretty sure i'm gonna go w/ my first option, for $590 plus stems and mounting/balancing. The 245's looked way too small on the 17x9, and 255 would be less than 1/2 inch wider.

oops sorry i was thinking stock 17x8's...........yeah 275's are perfect for the 17x9's. Thats what I have on my fronts.

Quality Chevy Products

The freakin u-bolts snapped on my Tahoe last night on my way home from work. I was pulling out of the store up the road when they broke loose, followed by the driveshaft flopping around everywhere. This happened at 5:30, and I did not get the vehicle home until about 8:00. Gotta have it towed again on Wed. to the place that I bought it from. Should not be a bad fix, but it's just a pain in the a$$ that I don't need. I have never had ANY luck with GM vehicles.

What year is it? I hope it doesn't happen to my 02 p/u. Aren't chevy's notorious for trans. / driveline problems? Dealer i bought mine off tried to sell me extended warranty said"...transmission were to fail after three years..." I looked at him and said if it fails after three years I'll never buy another chevy.

You can put 315 nitto drs but they bulge a little and are about as wide as 285 bfg drs. I was thinking 275 dr nittos on back, and 255 regular 555's on front cause just the dr's run skinny. I also heard that a fat front tire leads to tracking (getting caught in road grooves), and more hydroplaning. Plus i don't want the front tire sticking out past the wheel well and throwing rocks etc. up, where as the back, i think even a 275 would be swallowed up. I was thinking of going with dr's cause without even dumping the clutch at say 2000, i still spin through first and second with the 4.10's. But the 245 ohtsu **** tires i have now are not helping. so that is what i came up w/ for choices
1) nitto 275/40/17 dr's on back and reg. 555 255/45' s on front for $590 but dr's won't last as long
2) bfg kdws's 275/40/17 all the way around for a little more $ but i can rotate and they'll last longer but might be too wide up front

Sorry about the long a$$ post

Glad to see no one cares how im feeling after that mishap. Geez what a bunch of....

Sorry to hear that Mike. You should have just put it in 4wheel drive and drove it home. You only lost the rear driveshaft right? You still would of had front wheel drive.

LOL, i used to have a 4x4 toyota beater that would vibrate the bolts holding the rear driveshaft to the u-bolt off, and tied up the rear driveshft to the frame and drove home just like that a few times.

Maybe

Actually the Stang isent much diffrent from the last time you saw it at chris's. Although it is going to his place this weekend for the start of the install of all the winter mods. No one is going to see it then until May 16th
