I got tired of asking for a day off so I just called out sick. I have been asking for 4 weeks and got tired of the crap so now I'm taking 2 days off. Now they can scramble to cover my route.
Its not that we are short handed because we have some people layed off. Those that are layed off just need to be trained to cover more routes so some drivers can get some time off. The guys that are layed off are the guys with the least seniority and know the least number of routes. I've been telling one of the supervisors that they need to train someone to cover my route because only one cover driver knows my route and that means I can't get any time off because that driver is usually busy elsewhere. It doesn't help that the supervisors don't know my route very well.
