Tell him that an Aircraft Electrician (me) with 10 years experience on 30 Million dollar aircraft looked at your wiring job and said there was nothing wrong with it. Brand new stuff breaks or dosen't work right out of the box. I have seen it numerous times. As for the second controller that will be sent back tomorrow...Chris and I both went over the wiring and could find nothing wrong with the wiring. The unit wouldn't work. Now that I am asking for my money back the guy is starting to get a little insulting with some name calling. He insists that his failure rate is less than 1% and the only common denominator is me. He also insists that he has the best reputation in the business because of that failure rate.
Contacted my credit car company to dispute the charge because I can already tell this guy is going to get worse.
Any advise?

The yellow wire is hooked up to either a ignition or constant 12v source. The blue wire is used on the fan controller to connect to the AC system. When the AC comes on then the fan is supposed to run at at least 50%. 100% if its hot.
He has responded to a email I sent him earlier this evening. Saying that I wired it incorrectly and had a positive source to both the positive and negative terminals and called me 'Einstein'. Now that is some serious professional behavior. I responded to that in a professional way and not sinking down to his level.
His next response was to call me in a round about way, a Liar. That I can't keep my STORY straight. Since I can't keep the story straight as to what happen then it is my fault and I'm trying to cover it up.
As I mentioned his responses are going down hill but I still have not sunk to his level. I typed out the whole cenario again for him.
Glad I used a credit card. The credit card company is putting in a dispute and I will hear from them some time this week. At least I have prof that he received the first unit. He mentioned in his emails that he took apart the unit I sent back to him.

I wired it according to the directions. The only thing Chris said he would have done differently was wire the yellow to a ignition SWITCHED source. I wired it to a continuous 12v source. According to the directions you could wire it either way. The way I did it the fan would continue to run after I shut the ignition off until the radiatior was cool enough. This is just like some of the OEM setups out there where the fan runs for a little while after the engine is shut off. The yellow wire is a small gauge wire that is not a power feed for the fan. It just acts like a switch to turn the controller on or off. Its only one switch. The temp probe is another switch. The small gauge blue wire also acts as a switch when the AC is on.FEARNO1 said:But he said you looked at it too....Did you find anything wrong with it??
