ITS ALIVE ITS ALIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Couldent hold out any longer just had to go out and start up the stang. Wow after more then 4 months dident it sound SOOOOO SWEEET. I unpluged the coil wire and let it crank over a few times just to get the internals moving and pluged the wire back in, turned the key and ....... VROOM started right up w/ out a glitch. It sputted a little but after ideling for about 10 mins it was just as good as new. Only immideate prob I can see right off is that I have an exhaust leak at my headers b/c of loose/missing bolts but that will be an easy fix once its over to chris's garage. I dident compleaty take it out of the garage b/c the top of the drive way is still somewhat muddy, not the kind you sink into but the slimy stuff so in the morn when I get up Im going to take it out the garage when the ground is still cold and hard and go for a long awaited drive. Im still going to drive my winter beater for a bit longer until the ground hardens up more but it will be nice to at least have it out of the garage and to take it for a quick run in the morning. Just thought I would share, feels nice after 4 months.

I wonder just how much power they can put to those motors before then become "unreliable" I know w/ the cobra it will handel 1000 HP b/c of the forged internals. I know there are 5.0's running around w/ more then 500 RWHP on the stock blocks w/ out forged internals.

Yes but the 500rwhp is on borrowed time. At that limit the blocks are the weakest link and start to split. Even the sportsman 302 blocks can't take too much of those power levels.

Yeah I know that 500RWHP is about the limit for the blocks, thats why when Im eventually finished w/ all my mods I only want 400 at the wheels, but if I end up doing everything I want then I'll have a 306 Stroker in there anyway(down the road) Eric Gosslins Mustang dynoed at 510 RWHP and its been like that for about 4 yrs now, hes sold it but the guy that has it now blew the tranny but it was a stock T5 so I wouldent expect it to hold up to that kind of power but so far the motor has held up, the guy that has it now is selling it.

a 331 or 347 would be sweet though. A little extra displacement always helps. Easier to make more power with more cubes.

doing a 331 is still in the back of my mind to but w/ the rest of the combo that I have planned out it would be hard keeping it at 400 to the wheels. Im really not aiming to have the fastest car in SSOM, I just want something thats fun to drive on the street but has enough power so that I dont have to worry about anything rolling up next to me and kicking my ass. Like I said before Ive ridden in Erics 510 RWPH 91 GT a few times and Im all set w/ that , no thanks.

you always have to worry about someone having more than you. some of those little ricers might suprise you one day. Besides what is wrong with 500+RWHP? Did it make you poop your pants? Gets your heart racing though. I kind of miss my motorcycle sometimes. I sold it a few years ago and it was only a 650cc.

Umm, yeah pretty close to it, I just couldent imagine driving that and still having fun on the street, its just alot of power thats all. Thats what turned me off from supercharger for awhile but just b/c you have a s/c doesnt mean your going to have 500 HP, need to have all the supporting mods to go along w/ it.

My exhaust leak isent as bad now, all the bolts on the passenger side were loose so I tightend them up and Im missing one in the middle, the only one I coudlent get was the first bolt closest to the front of the car, just no way to get a wrench in there w/ out taking stuff off. The last one closest to the fire wall is missing on the drivers side but other then that all the ones are tight on that side. So I have a small exhaust leak but no biggie, I had a feeling I had some missing b/c I could hear a leak the on the passanger side when I put it up for the winter.

I had a few leaks in my header gaskets. Maybe 1k miles since I put those on last winter. Bolts kept loosening up. Cracked in some spots of the gaskets.
You might have to replace yours.
Just because you have 500hp doesn't mean that you have to drive around with your foot in it. You don't do it now with the HP that you have do you?

Yeah Im going to buy a new set of gaskets and buy some new bolts for it. I get on my quite often, most of the time when its just me. Guess I dont like showing off unless theres lots of rice around

The whole thing about me not getting on it all got started w/ chris, he was always wanting me to beat the hell out of it when he was riding w/ me..lol. Just for your guys information though He never got on it anymore then I did when I was riding w/ him.

Little tid bit that you and mike may not know about since you were both shipped at the time. Me, Chris, Fred, Mike, Bryan all went to FFW in Aug, Chris dident even bring his stang he rode w/ me. WTF is up w/ not bringing your Mustang to FFW. I think that far exceeds me not getting on it, which isent any less then anyone else here anyway.

I dropped off my cat-back at my friends house this weekend in my truck.Gonna install it next weekend. Damn there's a lot of rice down around portland. Did see one good looking yellow stang on mainstreet of sanford yesterday though. Saw a lot of stangs in rockland. Man, it sucks reading your posts and knowing i can't compete mod/hp/tq wise. Guy says he "might" have stock side skirts for me in his garage, and he'll give me a call when he looks. Guy is brother of former owner and put the side exhaust on. Any reccommendations if he doesn't come through? I read that cervinis were crap, cracked on some guys etc. Might be driving around w/out side skirts for awhile.

I just moved from Portland in Oct, Im In Raymond now near windham and this place is crawing w/ rice. Starting to see more of it now that the weather is getting good but I thought portland was bad until I moved here. Saw an Ecplise at walmart w/ a coffe can muffler and on the way home I saw some POS thing w/a big wing on the back and a big muffler I could put a 2 liter Bottle of soda in. Cant wait to have the stang out full time so I can cook some rice.

Not only is the Windham area the location of Maines slowest drivers I also belive its Rice Central.

Closest thing to rice here is one kid w/ a fart can but at least he knows i would walk him. I think three other guys have a vette but i'm not too familiar w/ them. One is older stingray. So I'm at least in top three in my town. But then i come on here and i'm poop.
