Actually the stock cam is not to shabby. NMRA's factory stock run high 11s with that profile. Of course they are purpose built race cars but they still put 300 rwhp + to the tires with a small cam. Even in full weight cars the stock cam performs deep into the 12s with other good parts.

i did like you do, i started doing 4th only, you have time to mentally prepare for it, then i did second every once in a while, tried 1st once.....that hairy.
and i don't know how easy it'll be to cut a 1.6x 60' with 103 at the traps, once you get that low, you almost need more power to pull through the 60' in less than 1.70 seconds, i always hovered around the 1.78-1.8 range like you, the only time i cut low 1.7x was on spray.
you'll score a 12.9x for sure, but a 1.6, thats a little further away i think.
awesome times, proving a low mod car, can tear the track up!
axeman said:Mike, don't worry, you'll get there. it's just a matter of time. practice makes perfect. we all need more practice. i probably have 100-120 passes total and i'm still learning every time i go. you'd better get to the track soon though, because i might be going back may 1st. i'll have to try revving first a little more to see the results.

You'll probably hit the 12's before me my schedule sucks right now
just too much going on. It's my b-day & my two little girls birthday at the end of this month (21st anna the youngest turning 2, 27th is mine, 28th is Julia my oldest turning 5). I wish you the best of luck though man. If I were you I'd focus on trying to power shift the 1-2 shift & the 3-4 shift & granny the 2-3. Just my opinion![]()
Its definately hooking good... but does it fall on its face (I doubt it). If so it might be hooking too hard and bogging the car down (again with 4.30s I doubt it). I figured Id check all angles!
Good Job Mark, with a little better 60ft you'll grab a 12.80
powershifting is probably my best bet right now. how about sidestepping while i powershift.

If you plan on using slicks and you want the clutch to last atleast a little while I would step up a notch. Really depends on what your intentions are with the car.
