Some scumbag broke into my '93 today, and besides destroying my black dash and busting the fuel psi guage on my cowl, they made off with a pro-comp ultra lite tach, pro-comp ultra lite oil psi, water temp, and a/f guages. If they haven't been separated, the last three listed guages are all in a home-made aluminum panel with allen head stainless screws still in it. They did not manage to get the sending units for the oil psi and water temp guages; it's a fairly distinct looking piece, and I'll post some pics tomorrow when I get to a scanner. A crappy kenwood cd player was also taken; has a blue and red display. I realize that there's not much of a chance of any of this stuff being spotted, but I'd appreciate it if anyone lets me know if they run across this stuff on e-bay or at any of the swap meets coming up.

That sucks, sorry to here it. How'd they break in? Makes you want to commit murder huh? I know how it feels to have things stolen. Things you've worked many hours for. Sorry again.

Thanks guys. They got in through the passenger door because the lock is seized up. I hadn't been driving the car for that reason; wanted to wait until I got it painted this fall before pulling off the door panels to fix the actuators. Hadn't driven the car in a few weeks.........really didn't think I'd have a problem with someone going through the car smack in the middle of a fair parking lot. Guess I learned a lesson.
It doesn't even make me too mad that they made off with all of the stuff they did; it's that they absolutely DESTROYED the dash, and even went under the hood and ripped off the insulation. If anyone can help me locate a new dash and instrument cluster, I'd appreciate it.

That's what the guage panel looked like; just the factory trim plate with a piece of aluminum screwed in. They ripped the whole thing out as a unit and did a pretty nice job destroying the surround while they were at it. The tach should still have big pieces of plastic stuck to the screws from where they ripped it out as well.

There isn't anything I can do to help but I send my sympathies. I have felt the pain. When people steel that low, it makes me think of how much of a low life that they would steel that cheap. I can almost see the point of view of someone that cleans out a bank vault and lives the rest of thier life in some tropical resort, but a few gauges and a old CD player??? What a low life POS.

If you ever know of a person who is a thief, or any other kind of low life. First of all, they usually are freinds with each other, so never be a freind to one of them because they will give their frinds the 411 on your stuff. Try to set them up, and get them busted, if we all did this, there would be no crime. Of course that makes you a "snitch" but look at what thinks of you as a snitch. People have made huge mistakes steeling or selling drugs in front of me thinking the I will best mind my buisness. To me that's a slap in the face, I'm a right wing republican, gun carring NRA member, hard working blue collar American.

I like animals much more than people. Except for one dog bite, I can honestly say not animal has ever wronged me, in fact I can tell you that if anything animals have done a lot for me. People on the other hand, the world could use quite a few less. Humans suck.

This is why our grandfathers hung people from trees for stealing horses ... not because they were back-azzwards ... because they were sick of this kinda crap

Thanks

The problem isn't that they stole YOUR stuff ...
The problem is that EVERYBODY has a story ...
Until these candy-azz congressmen/judges enact serious, serious consequences for these thieving scumbags these crimes will continue ...

A guy from my work just got back from his family vacation along the Oregon coast ... he had about $1200 worth of junk "jacked" outta his car while taking this "relaxer".

EVERYBODY HAS A STORY

There are serious consequences for thievery. Unfortunately, no matter what the punishment, some people will always disregard the law, morality, etc.

BS

I watched these video clips of guys stealing "bait" cars and then running only to get busted ... these guys were getting only 1 - 5 years

In my liberal Democrat state of Washington, a guy has to get caught behind the wheel of a stolen car 7X in King County before any serious consequences are thrown at him

My thought ... 1st offense = 50 years mandatory ........ wanna steal a car? Go ahead ... but who are you gonna cry to when you get caught If you know the punishment and it is enforced everytime ... who's gonna care to listen to you besides the enemy within (liberals)

Just weeding out the idiots is all ... I guarantee tough laws would curtail a large portion of these "petty" crimes ....

We all can see the how the lenient liberal method is failing
Plus if you shoot someone stealing your car then you're in trouble See how liberal thinking that has infultrated our country is so azz backwards

"ohh, that would be so wrong, it's not the thieves fault they weren't raised right be a society that doesn't care, it's the white mans' fault because all they do is sit around all day trying to figure ways to hold them down, booo hooo"

What gets me is how so many people still vote for the liberals. The liberals are for two goupes, the needy and the greedy. So if your really poor, or really rich, the liberals are your best friend, but us working people just trying to make a living, they hate us. Notice how two groupes seem to love the liberals, rich people like Ted Turner, and all the hollywood actors which get paid millions for doing just a few weeks worth of work, and the ghetto monkeys that do nothing but do drugs and steel.

I say liberals, although they are almost all Democrats, not all democrats are liberals. But most are. Look at Ted Kennedy, he is so outraged about the treatment of terroist held in prisons at aubu-grave (sp) and GITMO, but when a terrorist cuts off a civilians head, he just says "well, that's what you get". I hope he runs for president in 2008, so he gets shot like the rest of his worthless family.

I have expressed my feelings about criminals before. If I see crime in action, even if it isn't against me, I will make sure that person goes away for it. People say "don't tell on them or they will get you" That is such BS.
