So I had planned on getting one of these for my grill for my 06, had one on my 99 GT and loved it. Last week I searched high and low for it on the Net, had surprisingly difficulty finding one but finally did and ordered it. Unfortunately, the company called me right back and said that whatever company produced them stopped making them and they didnt have them anymore and should have been taken off website. Which explains why I had such a hard time finding one.....

So then does anybody here happen to have bought one before they stopped making them that I could buy off them? Im going to check the Mid Ohio Ford spring swap meet at end of March but thought I'd check here as well. Thanks!

Painted Ponies : SS Inserts, Mustang Accessories Corvette and Stainless Steel Inserts

This is what I found, seem expensive though, I am not sure if they are the same company you talked to.
Good luck.

If you look around on their site, they had a lot of engine bay parts and the fake gas caps painted too. Not really something I would be interested in personally, but they do look like a lot of time went into them.

The stars and stripes pony was mass produced due to popularity, and because of that you should be able to find one for less than other custom painted ponies.
Not knocking SS Inserts, that's where I got my black and blue flame pony.
But if you want the stars and stripes, why overpay?

Here's one at a much lower price than SS Inserts:

https://www.superiormustangparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=067-110200&cat=22

For a cheaper alternative you could try something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-09-MUSTANG-GRILLE-PONY-EMBLEM-COVER-STARS-&-STRIPES_W0QQitemZ200309065916QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090212?IMSfp=TL0902121210004r26284

Not of the same quality as a replacement pony, but you have to admit the price is extremely reasonable.

I just ordered the STARS & STRIPES PONEY for my 2011 Mustang GT,the picture looks great it really sets your car off,the price is $170.00 and a 30 day lead time as they are all custom painted.I looked at the other sites listed and many more, and could not find another company offering one of that quality can"t wait till I get it.

Yeah, I've seen the standard stars and bars pony's and the SS insert pony's and the SS insert's really set the car off, they look really nice. For the money, if I was looking at this mod, I'd go SS.

Yes, I agree the SS Inserts are nice, but price is way to HIGH. I'd rather buy some 4.10 gears or ROUSH lowering kit for the money...just sayin' : )
