I recently started having some starting issues with my 87 5.0 fox. But it seems to be intermittent. It all started about 2 weeks ago, when I was fixing my window motor and my battery died. I charged it back up and tried to start her up, but nothing. The lights would come on, radio, fuel pump, etc. The only issue was the starter would not engage. I was able to start the car by jumping the starter solenoid (touching the two lugs together). I then thought it had to be solenoid, so it has been changed (Autozone: Durlast Gold). The problem continued and I changed the Battery as well. I then checked all wires and grounds, cleaned and tightened them. Even replaced my ignition switch. Still having the same issues. The car starts if I jump the solenoid every time. The car then will continue to start right up (with the key, not jumping) for a few times after the jump without hesitation, but then soon after, it's like my chances to start her are used up and she stops trying to kick over. The starter does crank at all and battery is fully charged.
So does anyone have any ideas of what to check or how to go about this? Could this mean my starter itself is washed up and time for a new one? I'm losing my mind, there is not much to check within this loop and I'm running out of ideas, thanks in advance for any help or knowledge of this situation.
