Starter Problem!!!!

OK I got my 302 running for a little bit after a long break NOw before i could get it to fire up the starter disingauges and spins freely untill it slows back down and locks back into the flexplate why it doing that?

Your problem sounds like the starter drive inside the starter has failed. Replacing the starter assembly should fix your problem.

well last night I got it to run with the old starter but i forgot to let go of the key (from the excitement) and it keept locked in and i reved the rpms too high and it broke something inside the starter... well Hopefully my new mini starter comes in tomarrro..
