if you disconnect the 12 gauge wire (red and green) I think from the solenoid does it still engage the starter?

one last test. Remove everything except the battery and cable going to the starter from the lugs. If it still spins the starter then you have a bad solenoid.

....still turns over as soon as battery is connected. gonna replace solenoid with a solenoid thats not made in mexico like the one from auto zone. We'll see how it goes, thanks!

The mini starter has a solenoid on the unit itself (as well as the one mounted near the battery in the engine compartment). THAT is the solenoid that might be toast. Gotta replace the starter if that is the case.

Same thing happened to my previous '92 LX as well as my new '92 LX earlier this summer.

k now im really lost. I replaced the solenoid connected the battery..and it dident turn over. so went to crank it....it started but i heard the starter still engaging. so i turned off the key and the starter kept going, again.
I installed a 130amp alternator with a 4ga power wire before all this crap started happening. Could the extra output at start be screwing up my solenoid?
