I have to replace my starter solenoid switch but I saw two, the performance starter solenoid switch and the regular solenoid switch. Which would should I get?

Well, if you want the car to be faster, you should definitely get the performance solenoid....

Are you sure it wasn't regular and "premium"?

There's just not any way to really get more "performance" out of one, but most parts stores have a "premium" option made of better materials. Honestly, most of the parts store solenoids are about the same, you've got about a 50/50 chance of it lasting for years or hanging in the "on" position mere days after installation. I usually just order Motorcraft for the peace of mind.

Hmm...Well this still doesn't really give me an answer...The premium one lasts longer than the regular one so I guess I should get that one? And yeah I wasn't sure how the hell a starter solenoid would have increased my performance any lol.

Never mind they have this:
Amazon product ASIN B000CIEJUMView: http://www.amazon.com/ACCEL-40200-Ultra-Starter-Solenoid/dp/B000CIEJUM

And the OEM replacement one...Which one should I get?

If you're still running EFI, you want one that looks like this:
http://amzn.com/B0067ULY7A
If you run the old-style solenoid, it will cause computer problems due to the lack of diode that the newer style solenoids have that prevents feedback. (So I was told by one of my instructors many years ago at a CTI class.)

If you've switched to a carburetor it doesn't really matter which you're running.

I recommend the one with the longer stud terminals. I forget the part number. It's been a while.

Agreed. Replace any electronics with motorcraft units when possible. It's worth spending the money up front.
