well, its time to up the ante`.

ive enjoyed the turbo 4v. now that i have the 2011gt, i can build the teksid 4
v for some REAL power.

i just bought some 4340 I-beam CNC billet rods. haven't picked the pistons yet. they are definitely going to be 3v pistons in case i switch to 3v at some point. i already have a 04 cobra crank. gotta get it rebalanced. these rods are lighter than stock 04 cobra rods. im gonna look around for a lighter crank that can take the power. ill use the cobra crank if i cant find one.

i dont need to sump the gas tank. granitelli sells a AN-10/8 fuel hat. its enough with an a1000 pump. gotta change to a firewall regulator. using the cobra fuel rails i have.

gonna up the compression ratio from 8.5:1 to 9:1. gonna limit it to 6500 this time. i have been shifting it at 6900-7200. stock cams retimed should still be enough. might change to bigger cams if i need to. i am definitely quitting after this. 1k is enough. turbo has not been selected yet (72-76mm is required) . gonna redo the exhaust crossover for larger cross section. going to 2 3/4" primary tubes, 4" oval under the k-member and 4" after turbo. just shorty headers feeding the cross over.

intake and heads are already good for 1000hp. intercooler and piping is already rated for 1000hp. gonna boost the hell out of it.

Did you get the exhaust seats changed out in those ported 4V heads? It seems most every hard hitting 4V head I get the stock exhaust seats start falling out after some time (like 25+ lbs of boost).

no i havent. exhaust seats are in like new condition. i am lowering shift rpms. also cam ramp rates have a lot to do with it. i will have to use valve springs that can handle the boost. if i see anything when i pull the motor apart ill change them.

ill ask john M if i need to address the seats. i have to deburr the block while its out. lots of details. new transmission, rear axles, carrier, roll cage. lots of stuff to do.

darrin will do the converter/transmission. not gonna leave the line as hard as i can. i do want it to last.

definitely going with 3v instead of 4v. 3v heads i have are pretty new. lighter weight also with the teksid block. i need to replace the 4v valvetrain. so instead im switching to 3v. i have all the stuff to convert to 3v. kinda wanted 3v anyway. ill need the C&L intake to handle the boost level.

gonna port the heads a little. only remove the shrouds on the intake valves and smooth the runners and get a 3 angle valve job..
