From Ohio and winter time is here starting to rebuild my 7-up mustang as for a starting point it already is in great shape barely any rust and drove like a dream I started to drop the rear end today will finish tomorrow, I have less then a thousand bucks and hope to rebuild underneath the car already have some por-15 undercoat taking tranny (AOD) out to rebuild in the next few weeks. If anyone has any suggestions on some really cheap but good modifications for more power please tell me I am hoping the bottom end of the engine is good(85,000 miles) and if it is then I am going to new top end on it and high volume oil pump and heavy duty pump shaft.

What rear end ratio does the car have? From what I've seen, the best bang for the buck (especially in an auto shift car) is to up the diff ratio. Two of my friends had '95 GTs with the autos and 2.73s and they were totally gutless, no fooling (couldn't even dust minivans with the bigger sixes in them). They both put 3.73s in and did nothing else to the car - it was a whole different world. The overdrive compensated decently for the higher hwy rpms and resulted in quite acceptable fuel mileage, but with some relatively serious tire burning launch. No other single mod could produce so much instant and guaranteed results at such a good price.

ive had a 7 up car, the only thing i hated was the white top and interior, everyday i was cleaning the damn thing.. but if you want to go for bang for the buck i would go straight for 4.10's, yeah everybody is going to say 3.73, thats because thats what they have always heard and they dont daily drive with 4.10's= much more fun. at least get a shift kit, and go for like a 2400-3000 stall converter, it will make the car feel alot faster.. that should pretty much burn up your $1000, oh if you dont already have them, GET SUBFRAMES ASAP!! this is the only mod that really pays off down the road, as far as keeping the car from twisting and such

AHHWW GOT to love the 7-Up Stangs! Go with the 3.73s. I have them in mine, but its a 5-speed. Whats wrong with the white interior??!! Nothing! Do you have shorty headers? H-pipe?
