Starting car after 3 weeks of sitting

Hey guys, my car has been sitting for about 3 weeks with dead battery. I am going to install a new battery this week. Since the car has been sitting for a while what precautions (if any) should I take before firing her up? Someone suggested pouring some oil in the engine and maybe to pour in a bottle of dry gas? Any comments? Thanks

3 weeks isn't enough time to turn the gas bad. I don't know if there's a way to disable the ignition on a newer Mustang to let you crank the car over for awhile to build oil pressure before firing it up. I wouldn't sweat it, I'd fire it up & not worry about it.

OIL CIRCULATION

simply hold down the gas pedal all the way and crank it for 10-15 seconds and the stop, let go of gas and then start her up. The eec automatically does a fuel cut when you hold down the gas all the way durring cranking, this will get your oil circulating b4 you start her up.

3 weeks isn't much down-time at all. Mine sits in an unheated garage in the winter and is started once a month to circulate the oil and change which valvesprings are in full compression... I just did it this about a week ago and she fired right up as if it was run the night before; no noises, no odd running.

I'd just fire her up and let it idle for a bit to circulate the fluids before driving off.

Just crank that bad boy up. My dad stores his for 6 months during the winter and cranks it right up. Let it idle for a couple of minutes and take it easy until it warms up
