my car wont start, all the accesories work fine, it used to crank a little but now it just makes a ticking sound when i try to turn it over, it will not take a jump and also sometimes a large amount of smoke exits through the battery terminals, what could be the problem?

clean and tighten all battery terminals - a weak connection can allow the smoke out.

Charge the battery up afterwards and try again.

If still no go, I have used jumper cables in parallel with other cables to augment them. When you try one and the car starts, the cable you are paralleling is likely to be at fault.

Good luck.
