I have a 89 LX that wont idle. It had a really rough idle and was running way too rich a few weeks ago before I changed the plugs (same kind of plug just new). NOw for some reason its running 20lbs of fuel preasure and it wont hold its idle. I dont think the new plugs are the problem but if it helps it has the Trickflow Track Heat Package, aeromotive fuel rail, all new ss lines, 24lb injectors, TB, etc. My dad and I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions?

You should be at 39-41 psi for fuel pressure. Do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? Is the fuel pump kicking in? When you put in the new 24lb injectors did you make sure to get a MAF that matched? The first thing I would do is pull the codes.

The MAF was replaced along with the injectors and the fuel pump should be working. You can hear it turn on when the key is turned halfway. It has a adjustable fuel regulator but this is the first time ive had a stang with one and a fuel gauge like this so I wasnt sure what to expect.

You should see 39-41 PSI at idle with the vacuum line disconnected from the regulator.

Have you been having problems since the trick flow parts and fuel system parts were upgrade or did it run good for awhile before the problem popped up?

I just bought the car as a half done project. I got the car in running order, it ran super rich and needed to be tuned really bad. I changed out the plugs and slapped on a new air filter and then it ran worse. I cant imagine it the plugs and the fuel gauge said it was about 20 psi when we were giving it gas to keep it running, then it would just die out. All the fuel lines and parts are preaty much new or near new.
