starting problems

i have a 81 5.0 hatchback with a 85 motor in it, 302.
the car is all back to factory but the battery doesnt seem to be charging when i run the car, also the car has alot of trouble starting. seems like when the car sits it wont start for anything, i even charged the battery and tried it again. is there wiring to the alternator that needs to be fixed.

have the alt. tested. does it start when you charge the battery? if the alt. is good you may have a bad ground.

ok thanx and yait starts and everything now
i fixed part of the problem today but it will probably come back
the sparksplug wires were touching somethig to ground it out
i moved things around and it started no prob
is there anything i can buy to fix this

wire separators or looms maybe?
