Steeda Charge Motion control plate's question

I don't have any experience with these, but yes, they go between the upper and lower plenums. They actually (from what I understand) replace stock pieces with a butterfly valve in them. Removing the valve plates frees up a bit more area for air to flow freely through. I could be wrong though.

Not sure if I'm going to get a set yet, but $200 (I've seen them for $199 elsewhere) isn't too bad if there is a decent hp and torque increase gained. I'm sure they'll work best with a computer tune of course.

Average increase is 7 to 9 horsepower at the wheels above 4,000rpm with no loss of power or torque below 4,000.

I am not sure how accurate some of the threads I have read about the CMCVP's, but gains of 20-25 RWHP are possible with including a CAI and re-tune of the computer (DSP statement). If you are going to use the CMCVP's, then I would also add the CAI (Cold Air Intake) as well. I would consider the CAI first with a re-tune. I installed the Steeda CAI with a DS Predator tune for the CAI on my '05 GT. Seems to run better than stock. I have the CMCVP's, but have not installed them on my car yet. Maybe in the next week or so. Need torque settings for bolts before I do this. It is a plastic manifold we are talking about! I have a bad habit of torquing nuts/bolts too tight! I have Torque wrenches, so I can do it right. If you are not real confident in your own mechanical skills, I would highly recommend professional help in installing them. There is a lot of hardware you have to remove and then re-assemble to install the CMCVP's. Not for the faint of heart when working on your own car! Hope this gives you a bit more info....

I don't buy this part. Why the hell would Ford have put the powervalves in place if they did nothing for low-end torque? Car manufacturers install variable-geometry intake manifolds for a reason.

I have to agree!
Ford engineers put in a lot of time, effort, and research into these things.... I believe they perform an important function.
Especially for improving low end tourqe.

Deleting these would give you "some" gains at the top end WOT.
But are they worth it?
