I have been looking for a solid answer to this issue in the forum and have found a few different ones. So, I am posting. I have been noticing about an inch of play in the steering wheel (measuring on the outside of the wheel) and am curious about the possible solution. I don't think it used to have this much play and even if it did, I would like to tighten it up.

Any ideas?

I know for a fact that themaximum motorsports steering shaft will remove that looseness. I've heard the factory 03-04 cobra has a urathane busing as opposed tothe factory rubber. I dont have either part so I cant chime in on effectiveness, but I will be able to soon,.

^^

Drove a 03 cobra a very short distance quite some time ago, but I remember it just felt like a completely different car steering included. Very firm.

Although i do not have any specifics, i did hear about a similar issue with someone else's GT. THe problem was under the dash. There was a peice to replace on the steering column. THe cost was right around $30.00

I know that that was very vague, but it's the best I got from what I heard.

Good luck.
