I seen some videos of people cutting off the rag joint and welding on a universal joint on the steering shaft.. (like the new shafts MM sell)..

So all must stuff is out of car and apart anyway.. I did buy a new rag joint kit, but now I'm thinking this might be the better way to go... looks simple enough... found a joint on ebay for 33.00.... 3/4" smooth and 3/4" with 36 spline (I believe that is the correct one need for the Fox right?) - https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-4-36-spl...ing-universal-joint-u-joint-new-/231245073699

Anyone else does this? any draw backs?

Double D bar, and the related double D universal joints will allow you to put the whole steering shaft without welding. You can buy the splined U joint with a DD bar end to hook to the rack, and a section of DD bar that can be cut w/ a cutoff wheel on a angle grinder for less than half the premade units from LMR
