Steering Wheel Alignment

  • Sponsors (?)

Hi, after installing a replacement steering wheel on my 92, I noticed the alignment is now off...the new wheel points to about 2oclock. Is this an easy fix or should I bring it in?

Thank you
I also noticed that there is a factory note on the column that says something about re-centering the wheel, but I could not figure out how that is done.

They only clock one way. So if you take a stock wheel off, and put a stock wheel back on, they should align the same way assuming it's a stock steering shaft that is not clockable. More details would help us determine if any sort of mismatch in parts exists.

There is no way to center the wheel on the column. You would center the rack by this procedure. Go to the end and ignore the beginning of the instructions

After this process you would need an alignment, but if you get this far something is off. Take a stock wheel off and put a stock wheel on should be the same. What wheel did you buy?
