So I picked up a used steering wheel thats in much better shape than my current one. I am pretty frustrated because I've looked at all the steering wheel removal instructions on the internet that seem to make it look like a 30 minute job but I swear nothing will make the old steering wheel come off of the shaft. I've used a 3-prong gear puller and 2 prong gear puller and I can't get the prongs to stay on the top side of the aluminum piece since its rounded at the top. I tried using a steering wheel puller but the bolts ripped right out of the threads in the soft aluminum mount. Does anybody have better ideas for getting this thing off?

Nevermind, it required parts from two various gear pullers to eventually come off. Be sure if you do this have the proper gear puller, one with hopefully brand new jaws that are sharp enough to dig into the aluminum without sliding out due to the rounded edges.
